La Guindalera, also known as the Guindalera neighborhood, is a neighborhood in Madrid that belongs to the Salamanca district. It is located near Ventas del Espíritu Santo and is bordered by Avenida de América and the streets of Francisco Silvela and Alcalá.

This neighborhood began to be populated in the mid-19th century as a satellite area of the expansion of the Castro Plan, with horticultural settlements that took advantage of the irrigation from the 'canalillo' (the Eastern ditch, a surplus from the Canal de Isabel II). Later, it grew with the creation of Modern Madrid and Arturo Soria's Ciudad Lineal. At the edges of the neighborhood are Breogán Park, next to the M30, and Eva Duarte Park in Manuel Becerra. The etymology of the neighborhood may derive from a popular cherry orchard watered by the Abroñigal stream that passed nearby. Additionally, the neighborhood had one of the first tram lines in Madrid.

The nearest train stations are Nuevos Ministerios (C1, C2, C3, C4, C7, C8, and C10, Chamartín district) and Méndez Álvaro (C1, C5, C7, and C10, Arganzuela district), which can be accessed via line 6 of the metro. There is also the Recoletos station (C1, C2, C7, C8, and C10, Recoletos neighborhood), accessible via line 4.

The neighborhood is well connected by metro lines 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 9. Line 2 serves the southern part of the neighborhood with the Manuel Becerra and Ventas stations. Line 4 runs along the Francisco Silvela axis, stopping at Diego de León and Avenida de América. Line 5 crosses the neighborhood from the south, stopping at Diego de León and Ventas. Line 6 runs parallel to line 4, also covering nearby avenues.
